Timmy Global Health is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit that partners with like-minded organizations and utilizes the energy of student and medical volunteers to expand access to healthcare in the developing world. In collaboration with our international and US partners, Timmy sends medical service teams to support the work of international partner organizations, and channels financial, medical, and human resources to community-based health and development projects in the countries where we serve. Through our work, Timmy Global Health seeks to strengthen local health systems while promoting a spirit of humanitarianism, global awareness, and a long-term commitment to ending health disparities amongst our students and volunteers.

Timmy Global Health was founded in 1997 by Dr. Chuck Dietzen, a pediatric rehabilitation specialist from Kokomo, Indiana, now practicing in Indianapolis. With extensive international health experience, Dr. Chuck was ultimately inspired to start Timmy Global Health after working with Mother Teresa in India. The organization is named for his brother, Timmy, who died as an infant. Timmy Global Health is a tribute not only to Dr. Chuck’s family, but also to children and families throughout the world struggling to live without basic needs and access to health care services.
