Light from Light partners with Lespwa Timoun “Hope for Children" Clinic in Haiti. Our US partners were instrumental in the purchase of land in the Croix des Bouquets area just outside of Port-auPrince and helped build a permanent home for Lespwa Timoun that opened in 2014. Lespwa Timoun is open 5 days per week. The clinic served over 32,000 Haitian children in its first 13 years with 1,000 children in the nutrition program monthly now. The clinic doctors and staff also host nutrition clinics in 7 different locations, including 2 remote mountain villages. The clinic treats an average of 3,500 medical patients each month with General Medicine, Pediatric, Obstetrics, and Gynecology services available. The clinic offers laboratory, ultrasound, EKG, vaccination and pharmacy services on site. On average, 1,000 men, women and children attend sanitary and health education classes monthly. Lespwa Timoun also offers a demonstration gardens. Haitian parents can learn to grow crops necessary to better feed their children. Light from Light is helping equip our partners to make a sustainable difference in Haiti.
